This Arrangement affirms both participants intentions to work together to promote sound environmental policies and practices. It was signed alongside the New Zealand - Thailand Closer Economic Partnership Agreement. This is the Ministry for the Environment's oldest environmental cooperation agreement and one of its closest bilateral environmental relationships. The Agreement commits the parties to observe certain principles in their policies on trade and the environment; establishes mechanisms for cooperation and consultation; and establishes an Environment Committee to oversee cooperative activities and other matters.
