The establishment of the New Zealand-China Scientist Exchange Programme. The Objectives being to: encourage and facilitate greater understanding and development of research linkages between early- to mid-career researchers of the two countries; facilitate access to expertise in each country; and extend cooperation in priority research fields for collaboration as identified by the China-New Zealand Joint Commission on Science and Technology.
