Subject and Purpose:

That both governments enter into an understanding that, should the competitive position of the imports of either country, concerning rates and margins of preference be adversely affected in relation to that of the developing countries, both New Zealand and Australia will give the fullest consideration to representations from the other requesting appropriate action. Also that if either Government proposes to extend the scope of its preferences for developing countries, it will inform the other.
