Subject and Purpose:

An understanding, motivated by the long-standing friendship and growing economic and trade relationship of the Participants, recalling the Free Trade Agreement concluded between the Participants in 2008 and its objective of strengthening the economic partnership between China and New Zealand to generate economic and social benefits and create new opportunities for employment and improvement in the living standards of their peoples. Recognising the value of establishing streamlined arrangements for temporary entry of business visitors and diplomatic passport holders in support of this growing economic partnership, while upholding the need to ensure border security and the application of respective domestic immigration laws and regulations.
