Education

The Signatories will seek to:

a) Facilitate and encourage the exchange of information, expertise and experience (not including personal information) on their respective education systems in the fields of:
o early childhood education;
o primary and secondary education;
o national qualifications frameworks, quality assurance and qualification recognition;
o English and French language training.
b) Encourage cooperation in areas of shared interest to both countries, including:
o teacher training;
o the teaching profession;
o teaching and learning basic skills;
o learner safety and wellbeing;
o diversity and inclusion;
o digital education;
o global citizenship and civics education;
o art and culture education;
o education for sustainable development;
o vocational education and training;
o media literacy education.

c) Encourage educational and linguistic exchanges, notably through language assistant programmes, including with the French Pacific Territories.
d) Encourage the development of French-English bilingual teaching programmes in educational establishments with a New Zealand curriculum.
e) Explore opportunities for the development of schools with a French curriculum in New Zealand.
