The Participants have a common aim of reducing the impacts of climate change and preparing for its future impacts, through the transition to net zero greenhouse gas emissions economies. In this context, the Participants recognise coherent and integrated cooperation between governments can facilitate the exchange of best practices. Such cooperation encourages the development of innovative and effective solutions for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and adapting to the impacts of climate change. Cooperation on climate change between Viet Nam and New Zealand has grown steadily, both bilaterally and within regional and multilateral frameworks. The Participants, in accordance with the provisions of this Memorandum of Arrangement (MoA), within the competence of each Participant, will seek to strengthen dialogue, engagement and technical cooperation on climate change adaptation, and mitigation, including carbon markets.
