Treaty Summary:
Open to acceptance to members of the UN and Specialised Agencies. The Arrangement applies to skimmed milk powder and to such other products as may be added at a later date. The Arrangement provided for the establishment of a minimum price ($20 US per 100 kgs) and for the maintenance and adjustment of the minimum price - then includes modification. If desired by the Management Committee - skimmed milk powder may be exported at a price less than the minimum providing it is to be used only as animal food. The Arrangement is not to apply to transactions other than normal commercial transaction e.g. export to developing countries. Participants on the Arrangement agree to provide details of exports/imports of skimmed milk powder. Arrangement sets up a Management Committee within the framework of GATT.
