This Protocol contains, in its Annex, the Russian text of the Chicago Convention provided for in the Protocol Relating to an Amendment to the Convention on International Civil Aviation [Final paragraph, Russian Text], signed at Montreal on 30 September 1977.
The decision to make the Chicago Convention available in the Russian language was taken by consensus of Contracting States attending the 22nd Assembly in 1977. The availability of the Russian authentic text of the Chicago Convention as well as the availability of its 18 Annexes, in the Russian language, promotes safety by increasing accessibility of the text to a larger portion of the world’s population.
