The MFO was established in 1982 to ensure compliance with the terms of the 1979 Treaty of Peace between Egypt and Israel, which limits military forces and equipment within the Sinai Peninsula. The New?áZealand Defence Force contribution comprises 26 personnel, the key element being the training and advisory team. This Agreement updates the New Zealand commitment along with the addition of three Annexes: one on the composition and mission of the New?áZealand contingent; one on financial arrangements; and one on administration and management arrangements.
