The Agreement provides for the two countries to assist each other in the administration and enforcement of tax laws through the exchange of tax related information.
The agreement was signed on 16 March 2010. An Order in Council to give the agreement the force of law in New Zealand was made on 8 June 2010. The exchange of diplomatic notes to bring the agreement into force was completed on 7 September 2017.
